My answer to Q6 shows that once in touch, either by phone or personal appearance with the receptionist it is easy to get the appointment. The main problems are an inordinately long wait for the phone line to be accessed and the forward time for appointments. Two to three weeks is not really acceptable.
Ellie was so good and careful very nice and relaxing. The only issue is getting an appointment, once before I waited 3 weeks for one and then on the day it was cancelled and I had to wait another 3 weeks. Other than that everything is great.
It would be nice to get an appointment a bit quicker.
We lived in Birchington for 5 years from January 2011 and during that time, we have seen improvements in the BMC, which did go through a difficult period during that time.
We have seen Dr Finlay and are very satisfed with his approach and care.
We find the nurses very pleasant and efficient to deal with.
It can be difficullt to get through on the phone sometimes but we are aware that this is improving due to steps taken by the new practice manager, Hannah Price.
The receptionists are generally helpful and polite, particularly if you treat them with respect and courtesy.
We think the time to get an appointment with a named Doctor can be excessive but appreciate that emergencies are dealt with much more quickly.
The online system of requesting repeat presciptions is very good and works well.
Overall. we rate the BMC as a good and improving practice and hope that our next one in Oxfordshire will be as good.
